A DAY FOR FUN AND DUSTIt was a day of fun with lots of cleaning and flying dust particles. Helped my pok to pack and rearrange her room.

we're going to the zoo zoo zoo.. how about you you you..
Singapore Zoo.. our first trip there after our last childhood visit... Pok chose the zoo as the first place we shall visit on our "Montly Trip" starting this month...

Damn bloody hot day but luckily, we wore comfortable clothing and had our sunglasses to fight the sun.. the zoo changed alot since we last visited and we were kinda lost at the beginning.. but soon we found our way around and pok was starting to get amazed by all the different animals in their enclosures...

We continued walking around and we stopped for a rest for the sea lion show.. good rest and also some shade from the hot, burning sun.. we also ate the egg and cheese sandwich i made the night before and drank the honey green tea pok made..
After the show, we walked to the butterfly enclosure and pok jumped up when she saw the chameleon on the floor... i warned her about the lizard being on the floor.. guess she was too tired from the hot sun and nearly stepped on its tail.. and thats the main reason why she jumped up!!

We also went to see the kangaroo... although pok had just recently went to australia for a holiday with her family, she still insisted on going to see the kangaroos.. she wanted to see the kangaroo box me..

Pok had som fun with the giant turtle and squirrels... she was so happy when she saw the squirrels run around in their little enclosure.. they are super hyperactive creatures... luckily their are kept inside and not running around us..

Ended the day with a walk to see the smely rhinos and zebras.. there were very lazy lions and cheetas too..

EXPERIMENT FOOD
We both got bored and pok wanted to try something new.. She decided that she wanted to cook dinner for me as i am usually the one who cooks to fill her stomach...
Shopping at NTUC for the ingredients like, pasta, potato, prawns, mushrooms, mozeralla cheese and french loaf..
Done with shopping and time to cook.. we didn't take any photos of the cooking process as the kitchen was really too messy already... I did most of the cutting and preparation for the food.. pok, on the other hand, was the head chef that day and was cooking all the food..
Tricky part came when it was time to cook our mushroom pasta... she didn't know how to cook it and so, part time chef josh came to her rescue... taught her how to cook the pasta and the mushrooms and soon, over wonderful dinner was all ready...
But we did needed the help of pok's mummy to help marinate the chicken before we fried it..

End of dinner.. toughest job was tasked to me.. WASHING UP THE DISHES!!! wore rubber gloves and took the steel wool and began scrubbing the pots and pans that were used to feed four people over dinner..

Valentine's Day, 14th Feb 2008
The long awaited day was finally here.. We had planned long and hard as to what to do for this special day.. It was exactly 1 month and 2 days since we were together on my birthday.. What seems to be just one short month felt a million times longer than that.. Time seems to pass by so quickly, but it hasn't pass by that much in reality..
Well, we planned to watch the sunrise at changi sea sports club there.. So picked lil pok up and off we headed to the location to watch the sunrise.. got there ahead of time and had a little time to sit there and just reflect on the month that went by... Ups and downs, good and bad.. How we started off and ended up where we are now.. Love really works in a very magical way..

At almost 6.30am, we could already counted the number of planes that flew over our heads.. We even had the time to change spots for the sushine to appear.. But sadly, the sun didn't appear and we just sat there and exchanged our gifts.. She got me this leather bag from pedro, she got it so that i could bring it along when i go for work with allan, my part time event company boss... She also got me a black Armani Exchange sweater.. She didn't want me to freeze in the old GAP sweater... She also didn't know what i got for her and when she saw that i got her a necklace, she was overjoyed.. That smile on her face, i still can recall that faithful day.. I put the necklace on for her and promised that i would give her one necklace every valentine's day.. So that she will have a small collection of it after a few years...

Afterwhich, we drove to airport to have swendsen's breakfast.. It was really cold at the airport and we were the only two people in the restaurant when we ordered our breakfast.. Ate our meals and went to walk around the airport before heading home to catch on some sleep..

Mr lim wen yi's birthday celebration.. Pok had planned for the party since a long long time ago... But given lim's clever mind, it didn't take him long to realise that there was a surprised party for him..
What gave it away were mainly two separate events.. First one was when Pok's mum bought many many packets of hot dog and crab meat and stored it in the freezer of the fridge in her house.. And so happen that the main star opened the freezer and saw so many packets of hot dog and was starting to get suspicious... Second event was when his uncle called him and asked him about where the bbq is being held.. After that telephone call, he knew that Pok had a special surprised for him...
So we finally revealed every little details to him while sending him there.. And he kept saying that he knew something was happening and that he could predict the events that were about to happen..
Pok managed to get lim's SP classmates, SPS band mates, Childhood friends and SPS brudders... And of course the family members were also present to grace the special day for lim..
It was a night of many food and drinks, the MILK CARTON cake and photo taking with everyone present that day.. After everything was over, Pok and i cleared most of the stuff out before leaving the chalet and letting the remaining people enjoy themselves over the vodka...
Was a super tiring day for Pok as she had school during the day before the chalet and she still managed to keep herself awake to clear the place before leaving home to enjoy a good night's rest.. I must say that it was worth the effort seeing lim's smile when he cut his cake.. and i guess its been a long time since he last smiled that happily... =)

My pok decided that we will have a ice cream decorating competition to see who can make a better ice cream display..
We decided to have a fair competition and use the apple strudel and strawberry ice cream... She also said that we could use any other items that can be found in the kitchen... I think she cheat and used that flower display from another cake with was in the fridge.. But she insisted that she did not break the rule as it was found in the kitchen..
Anyway, i let her use the flower lor.. Cos i believed that i could win without CHEATING!!!! So we did out displays and we got my friends to judge which was the better masterpiece...
VIAN VS JOSHAnd the results were... 2 votes for pok... 1 vote for me... I LOST!!!
Damnit.. I hate losing.. Especially to my pok!!!! Cannot stand losing la.. but i do feel that she had the better masterpiece because of her FLOWER!!! but the process is really fun i must say.. i wanna do it again!!!

Of course i am not going to forget to talk about my friends who remembered my birthday this year..
those two groups of friends which i have photos to show shall be mentioned in the below entry.. haha...
First dinner was with hui qian, jek hao, michelle and juan ling.. We could not decide on a place to makan so we all agreed to try the new restaurant at cinileisure.. the place itself isnt really nice la.. its call the Hip Diners (or something like that).. We all took a damn long time to decide on the food i tell you.. Cause there were too man items on the meun to order and they were are reasonably priced as well.. Made our decisions and then came the food...

The food was just alright and decent.. But if given a choice, i would not choose to go back for a second serving.. Jek was totally depressed by the seafood platter for two as the serving was really small and definitely not filling enough for the couple.. So, peeps who are thinking of trying this place, you can try if you have a small budget for a meal but please do not get surprised by the serving size.. also, dun expect too much on the taste as well..
Next up are my brudders from SPS.. These guys are the best brudders that one can have.. With that said and done, guys who were present on my birthday included, lim, ling, kenny, gilbert, brian and ben... We all decided on some turkish place at shaw house.. Cause lim just had his operation and wasn't able to move that freely so we choose some place near for him and had good food...
Didn't know what was nice so we just ordered their platter which had most of the 'better' food...
All got conned except ben and lim, we ordered this drink which was suppose to be something similar to a fruit punch, but when we tried it, it tasted like water with red colouring in it.. Should have followed ben and ordered barley drink which was a much safer choice...

After lunch, kenny left to meet his camp friends and the rest of us went over to lim's place to play the new BIG SMALL gambling paper i got for him from hong kong.. Its really bad to gamble and we all should stay away from it.. lim and ling stop gambling la!!! Our bet were to drink one cup of water for 5 chips.. or you could also do 15 push-ups for 5 chips.. ling was practically on the floor the whole afternoon doing push-ups to earn his chip so that he could bet more choices on the paper.. brian was the winner of the bet as he continued to bet the pay rate on the paper.. 1 pays 50.. and he managed to get it TWICE.. WTF!!! Was a pretty cool and chill out day at lim's place.. but all were too bloated or tired from either drinking too much water or doing too many push-ups...

Its been a damn long time since i really celebrated my birthday.. and this year, my pok really caught me off guard by booking a place at flutes at the fort for my birthday dinner...
What was really sad is that i had school on my birthday, although i really wished not to have gone for it, it was a practical lessin which i could not afford to miss... therefore i had to drag myself to school to attend the practical..
Was really restless during the practical and all i could have think about was to just finish my practical as soon as possible.. She somehow managed to keep it from me till the very last minute and i nearly could not have made it in time for dinner.. We were quite late for dinner but luckily for us, the people at flutes at the fort were really nice and they kept the table for us...

Got there and settled down.. it rained pretty heavily before dinner time so the weather was just nice and cooling.. but not mosquito flying around and feasting on our blood... Look through the menu and ordered our dinner..

Surprise!!! Thats what my pok give me right after my dinner... She gave me once last twist to my birthday... She prepared a cake from Bakerzin and got me to make a wish before i could blow the candle out... I was lost for words when she told me about this surprised and it was the best surprise in sometime... I gladly blew the candles and made me wish.. Afterwhich, i went over to give her the biggest tightest hug i could give and thanked her for the pleasant surprise..
